Coupon codes that bring customers back (without training them to wait for a discount)

A discount is a tool, not a strategy. How to use BookInnTime's coupon codes to fill quiet days and win back regulars — and when not to.

Coupon codes are now free for every business on BookInnTime. Used well, they fill a quiet Tuesday and bring back a regular who drifted. Used badly, they teach customers never to book at full price. The difference is almost entirely in how you set them up.

Give every code a job

Before you make a code, finish this sentence: this code is for… A code for "regulars who haven't been in for two months" is a tool. A code for "everyone, always" is a price cut with extra steps. Use the note field on each code to write down its job — you'll thank yourself in three months.

Cap it and date it

Every code can have a maximum number of uses and an expiry date. Use both. A code for 20% off that ends Sunday and stops after 15 bookings creates a reason to book now. A code that's always there creates a reason to wait.

Send it to people, don't post it everywhere

You can email a code straight to any customer who has booked with you before, with a short personal message. That's the most effective way to use a discount: a thank-you to a regular, or a nudge to someone you haven't seen in a while. A code posted publicly gets shared and ends up used by people who would have paid full price anyway.

Quiet days, new services, win-backs

Three uses that work almost everywhere. Quiet days: a small discount only valid for a slow day fills it without touching your busy ones. New services: a launch code gets the first few people to try something they'd otherwise hesitate over. Win-backs: an email to someone who hasn't booked in a while, with a code and a real sentence from you, gets more of them back than any post.

One discount per booking

If a customer has a loyalty reward and a coupon at the same time, they get whichever is bigger, not both. That keeps discounts from stacking up into a free haircut. (Loyalty stamp cards are part of Pro, and Pro's first 30 days are free.)

How to make one

In your dashboard go to Rewards & coupons, pick a percentage, optionally a cap and an expiry, and tap Create. The code appears straight away — copy it, or email it to a past customer from the same screen.
